A quiet revolution is sweeping across US colleges and universities as schools rethink how students learn both inside and outside the classroom. At the intersection of learning, technology, design, and organizational change lies the foundation of a new academic discipline of digital learning. In Learning Innovation and the Future of Higher Education, Joshua Kim and Edward Maloney explore the context of this new discipline, show how it exists within a larger body of scholarship, and give examples of how this scholarship is being used on campuses.

About the Speakers:

Joshua Kim, Ph.D., is the director of online programs and strategy at Dartmouth College, and a senior fellow for academic transformation, learning, and design at the Center for New Designs in Learning & Scholarship (CNDLS) at Georgetown University.

Edward Maloney, Ph.D., is the executive director of the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS), a professor of the practice of narrative literature and theory in the Department of English, and the founding director of the Program in Learning, Design, and Technology at Georgetown University.
