Halls of Wonder: Art, Science, and Beauty in the Age of the Marvelous

Rare books curator Earle Havens will lead a six-session online Odyssey course exploring the evolution of libraries and museums from their earliest forms in the ancient and medieval worlds to their flourishing during the Renaissance and Enlightenment.

Learn how these institutions have preserved knowledge and shaped culture across centuries through materials drawn from the renowned rare book and manuscript collections at the Johns Hopkins Sheridan Libraries, and consider how libraries and museums continue to serve as vital spaces for learning, memory, and community.
